How Bo Nix stacks up against past rookie seasons?

Bo Nix is opening eyes across the league and closing in on Jayden Daniels' lead for Offensive Rookie of the Year. The rise seems fast, but besides the first two games, Nix has looked like a veteran quarterback this season. How does his season stack up against past (QB) rookie of the years through 10 games?

Bo Nix through 12 games:

2023- CJ Stroud


3,540 passing yds
63.4 CMP%
143 rushing yds
23 total TDs
12 turnovers

Stroud got off to a scorching start last year, so beats Nix in terms of passing yards and total TDs, but Stroud had more turnovers (7 fumbles, 5 INTs), less rushing yards, and a lower completion percentage.

2020- Justin Herbert


3,467 passing yds
66.3 CMP%
185 rushing yds
28 total TDs
16 turnovers

Justin Herbert's rookie season is considered to be one of the best of all time, but isn't too far ahead of what Nix is doing. More passing yards, higher completion percentage, and TDs for Herbert, but also less rushing yards and more turnovers.

2019- Kyler Murray


2,866 passing yds
63.9 CMP%
446 rushing yds
18 total TDs
8 turnovers

Kyler Murray had an impressive rookie season, but very comparable to Nix. Murray wins in passing and rushing yards, but Nix has more TDs, a higher completion percentage, more TDs, and less turnovers.

2016- Dak Prescott

67.9 CMP%
301 rushing yds
26 total TDs
13 turnovers

Prescott had a great rookie season, with more passing and rushing yards, total TDs, and a higher completion percentage, but also more turnovers.

In summary, Nix's slow start is holding him back from the rest of these stats, but even then, he still has comparable numbers to previous rookie of the years, and fans need to realize he isn't the check-down artist he was advertised as in the pre-draft process.

Predictions for Transfer Portal QBs

 By Caleb Jeanneret The transfer portal opens up next week, but we have already heard some "high-profile" QBs that plan to enter. Here are the current predictions: Conner Weigman Connor Weigman is the Cade Mcnamara of this portal class. Everyone knows his name, but he just hasn't lived up to it. He played well-ish for around one season, and last year got benched for Marcel Reed. Of course he is entering the portal, no he isn't going to change a program. Syracuse has been thrown around, Auburn has been rumoured, I think he lands where QBs go to die: My Prediction: Iowa Jackson Arnold Jackson Arnold is a great example of someone everyone blamed, that didn't deserve the blame. College Football Coaches Who Should Get Fired- And Who Should Replace Them

By Caleb Jeanneret  The University of Florida announced this morning that Billy Napier will be the Head Coach of the football team going forward, and although every fan of the football team disagrees, will not be firing him. It's obvious that Florida is worried about bottoming out as a program, much like Nebraska is on the verge of doing after firing Bo Pelini. The only difference is Billy Napier may bottom them out on his own. Even though Florida will not be hiring a new coach, I did want to go through some possible firings/job openings across the power conferences, and who my favorite fit would be to replace them.     Neal Brown- West Virginia Neal Brown was on the hot seat following the 2022 season but saved his job after winning 9 games last year.
